How long before we find out that Substack is completely AI generated? That would explain why it looks like it was designed by someone who's never used the internet.
From the Reddit comment: “I came to Substack to create long-form journalism, not invest my time in Notes and interacting with others.” My (unsolicited) advice to this journalist then would simply be to focus 100% on his or her journalism and turn off the comments (or make commentary only available to paid subscribers) and tell your (paid) subscribers that you generally won’t read their comments and you definitely won’t be engaging with them and to never use Notes. Would that be so difficult?
From my perspective, I love the notes section of Substack because it works like twitter used to work.
The biggest challenge I have is the “interface” for comments.
What a lot of people don’t realize is that while Substack is a social media platform, it is also a media platform by itself.
The ability to post an original video or podcast here at Substack is super easy and it basically works.
It is sort of a “grind,” in a way because you have to consistently place content. I notice that if I take a day or two off I seem to lose a few subscribers although once I stopped worrying about that, I was having more fun posting.
Plus? I post on Substack to connect with others and to get a sense of what others are thinking. Peace.
I like everything about Substack. I’m simply going to continue to enjoy it until I don’t. I don’t really understand all of the complaints about Notes from some of the writers on this Media platform. They’re entitled to their opinions.
I’m also on Substack to make connections. The higher quality the connections the better.
God bless you my friend! Want to know a little secret? I never use a.i. to write my posts. When I am inspired, which is usually each day, I just start writing what is on my mind that day.
I respect and appreciate your perspectives brother! Onward.

OMG, NUK, I never thought of that and I think you just hit the target!
Onward!
This a.i. thing is shifting quickly!

My favorite thing about Substack is meeting great people like YOU
Gary’S!!!
I feel the same way about meeting you, Mitch. Both you and what you post are top quality.

I noticed that annoying comment thing too.
I’m grateful that you noticed this too. Now I know I am not nuts! LOL
Definitely Sane! (At least in this regard 😎).
